Bansko summer camp
Bansko is the most popular winter resort in Bulgaria. It is located at an altitude of 925 m. Located at the foot of Pirin Mountain Bansko is a favorite destination for thousands of tourists around the world. Located only on 150 km from Sofia and on 145 km from the airports in Plovdiv, it is an international center for winter and summer tourism.
With its unique nature the ski area with 75 km of ski slopes, 27 the lift and trains Bansko attracts more and more tourists every year. Bansko is a city of ancient and modern, center of international festivals, authentic culture and traditions.
Nature is the greatest wealth of the municipality of Bansko. Through 1962 r. The Nature Protection Service announces the most beautiful part of the Pirin Mountains for Vihren National Park. From 1999 r. the park is re-categorized in Pirin National Park with an area of 40 332 hca.
This small part of paradise includes centuries-old spruce fir forests, wide areas of pine bushes, mountain meadows and rocky mountains, deep circuses and extinct lakes. Due to this unique nature, the Pirin National Park is recognized as a World Heritage Site and by order of UNESCO from 1983 r. is included in the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Natural Heritage.
